Around the World Come and travel around the world to find new friends in new places. Your new friends are like you in some ways and different in other ways.

A Friend in Brazil I am Maria, and I am eight. I live in Brazil. I go to school from February to December. My school has so many students that three groups of us go at different times during the day.

I like to go to festivals. They are like parades or street parties. I like to play tag and jump rope. I also like to go to the beach. My favorite food is stew with beans and pork.

A Friend in China I am Wei (WAY), and I am six. I live in China. All the children in my school wear uniforms, but students at some other schools do not.

I like to go to the aquarium. It has a giant tunnel where you walk past sharks and many other fish. I also like to play ping-pong and basketball with my friends. My favorite food is rice porridge.
