My eid al-fitr

Ramadan (RAH-mah-dahn) was almost over. I was so excited. Soon it would be time for Eid al-Fitr (EED ul-FIT-ur).

After the Sun went down, I ate dinner with my family.

Then the family who just moved in next door came over for tea.

Their son was nine, like me. His name was Shadi.

Shadi and his family are Muslims, and so is my family. Shadi's family just moved here from another country. It was not safe there. We talked about how they had to leave their home.
