小暑

Slight Heat, occurring on July 7th or 8th, marks a period when it's hot but not the hottest.

In the Yangtze River region, the rainy season ends , transitioning to sunny summer days. In northern China, however, the rainy season begins, necessitating flood precautions.

This period also signals the start of the " San Fu Tian" the hottest days of summer. People feel the heat wave, crickets move indoors, and young eagles learn to fly.

In ancient times, emperors gave ice and fried noodles to officials during this period. Nowadays, people eat dumplings, noodles, and pancakes based on tradition.
