Dragon Master MANAWA HOME Manawa lives on the large island of Kapua. It is located in the Great Sea of Kiwa. STRENGTHS You need a big personality and a strong will to connect with a large Sea Dragon like Tani. Manawa has both of those things. He is also a great big brother to his younger sister, Pania. Dragon Friend Like Opeli, Manawa also wears an Ahi Stone. But in Kapua, he is called a Dragon Friend, not a Dragon Master.

BACKGROUND Manawa lives with his family in the village closest to the shore. His parents are Mahuta and Epa. Besides his sister, Pania, he has an older brother named Kauri. The family works together with the other villagers to grow vegetables, fish, and hunt. DRAGON Tani the Sea Dragon

THE ISLAND OF KAPUA Manawa lives on the eastern shore of North Kapua along the ocean. But Kapua is known more for its mountain ranges and green pastures than its beaches. Some of those mountains are volcanoes, which is where Manawa got his Ahi Stone. Each village in Kapua has its own leader. The Dragon's Teeth When volcanoes erupt, the lava can sometimes cool into column-shaped rocks. This group of volcanic rock columns is known as The Dragon's Teeth. Peaceful Ocean Noa and Kapua Kapua is very far from the islands of Noa. But it is believed that long ago the people from those two lands all came from the same island. They journeyed across the waves to find new homes. Some settled in Noa, and others settled in Kapua.

Dragon TANI THE SEA DRAGON Tani lives in the Great Sea of Kiwa, off the shores of Kapua. She is twice as big as most other dragons— except for the Naga, of course. Tani is very strong and can kick up waves with a swish of her tail. DRAGON FRIEND Manawa

POWERS She can control ocean waves, causing them to rise and fall. Her greatest power is a ngari nui— a very, very big wave that causes destruction when it crashes on land. In some places, this is called a tidal wave. POWER COLOR Teal, green SIZE LENGTH: 85 feet WEIGHT: 12,000 pounds Training Tip Tani is difficult to work with when she's hungry. So Manawa waits to train with her until Tani has her morning feed of fish.
