Dragon Master DARMA LI HOME Darma has always lived on the Island of Suvarna. STRENGTHS Darma is very in tune with the world around him. He may have learned some of these skills from the monks who raised him. He can sense what might happen in the near future. Because of his strong connection to the world around him, he always believes that everything will turn out all right. This keeps him calm in dangerous situations. He can also feel the energy of portals and magical objects and places. Is Darma Magic? Drake and Rori wondered this when they met Darma. Other Dragon Masters are not able to feel magical energy or sense what is about to happen in the future, like Darma can. Griffith thought Darma might be a young wizard, but Darma is not a wizard. He learned these skills in the temple where he was raised.

BACKGROUND Darma lost his parents when he was a baby. He was raised in a temple by the monks who live there. A monk named Budi became his adoptive father. DRAGON Hema the Gold Dragon

THE ISLAND OF SUVARNA Glory Peak Ash Mountains Cloud Mountains Blue Fire Volcanoes Great Sea This island is very, very far from Bracken. It is even farther than the Kingdom of Caves. Suvarna is divided up into twelve kingdoms. Darma lives in the land ruled by King Wisnu the Brave. It is very hot in Suvarna. The land is covered with green plants and colorful flowers. It is one of the few places in the world where you can find the Rainbow Tree— a tree with bark that grows in different- colored stripes, like a rainbow.

The people there are great builders. They build palaces and temples that touch the sky. Dragons are more common in Suvarna than in some other places. You can find Water Dragons there, and Flower Dragons connected to nature. But Hema the Gold Dragon is the most powerful dragon on the island.

POWERS Hema can shoot beams of golden energy from her mouth. Those beams can blast her opponents, or wrap around them as though with a rope. She can change into any animal form she wants to. Training Tip Be careful not to ask Hema to transform into anything too small. Darma once asked Hema to turn into a flea, and then spent three hours trying to find her. I would love to figure out how Hema's powers work. It is amazing that she can transform from a big dragon into a tiny mouse. —Griffith
