驯龙大师 · 28 Night of the Dream Dragon
CHAPTER 6 FLYING Kishar climbed on Mamu's back "We need to find Zoltan before he reaches the fountain. Follow us!" "Wait!" Drake cried. "Worm floats very slowly. He can't fly. How will we keep up with you?" Kishar's brown eyes twinkled. "Mamu, please give Worm dream wings!"
Mamu closed her eyes. Her whole body glowed softly with blue light. Worm's tiny wings began to grow! Brown feathers sprouted from them. The feathers grew longer and longer as his wings got bigger and bigger. Worm smiled.
Drake reached out and touched a wing. The feathers felt soft and light. "These wings feel... so real," he said. "Yes, but they are only dream wings," Kishar explained. "When Worm returns to the real world, he will lose them." Drake heard Worm inside his head. Climb on my back, Drake. Let's try out my dream wings together!
Drake slid onto Worm's back and wrapped his arms as far as he could around the dragon's neck. Worm flapped his new wings. One of the feathers brushed against Drake's cheek, tickling him. He laughed. "Mamu has shown us some amazing powers so far!" Drake said. Kishar grinned. "She is amazing. She can see into people's dreams. She can banish your bad dream, so you will wake up before it gets too scary. There is much more she can do, too." Mamu lifted off into the air. Worm flew behind Mamu as she soared through the gate and into the Dream World. I can fly, Drake! I can fly! Worm said. He caught up to Mamu.
The Dream Dragon shot another beam from her mouth. More sparkling particles appeared and Mamu followed them. Worm kept pace with Mamu. Drake looked down and saw a tree-covered land. "That is the Land of the Forests," Kishar told Drake. "Many dreams take place there."
Mamu kept flying. She followed Zoltan's trail to another land. Drake could see animals roaming through a land of plants, trees, and waterfalls. "That's the Land of Beasts. It is where the dreams of animals go," Kishar said. "Mamu says Zoltan's trail leads here. He might even still be here. We're going to land!" The two dragons set down in a grassy field. A dog ran by, chasing a cat. A brown rabbit happily chewed on a giant carrot. A frog flew past on butterfly wings. All of them had a strange shimmer. "Do all dream creatures look wavy, like this?" Drake asked. Kishar nodded. "Yes. They are not solid, like we are."
