5 Sandor and Phantom

CHAPTER 5 SANDOR AND PHANTOM A glow surrounded the boy and dragon. Worm kept his power beam focused on them. Unfreeze the boy's head so he can speak, Drake told Worm. The green light faded from the boy's head. "Let us go!" the boy yelled.

"We need to talk to you first," Drake said. "I'm Drake, and this is my friend Bo. We're Dragon Masters, like you. Our dragons are named Worm and Shu." "Okay, fine. I'm Sandor, and my dragon is Phantom," the boy replied. "Now unfreeze us!" "We are looking for a wizard named Zoltan," Bo said. "What do you want with my wizard?" Sandor asked. "You're not friends with him, are you?" "Your wizard?" Drake asked. "Does he train you and your dragon?" "He—wait, I'm not answering any more questions until you call off your dragon," Sandor said. Worm, release them, Drake instructed. But get ready to zap them if they try anything! The green glow faded.

"Thank you," Sandor said. He jumped off of Phantom's back. "Yeah, Zoltan is meant to train us. But he mostly ignores us. He spends all his time in his dungeon workshop. He makes me and Phantom live outside in the stinky stables. He only feeds me gloopy porridge. And now he's making us stand guard while he figures out how to use a dumb, green orb. That's why we tried to scare you away." The Dream Orb! Drake thought.

"I do not understand," Bo said. "If you don't like this wizard, why do you stay here?" A dark look crossed Sandor's face. "At first I thought it was all part of Dragon Master training," he replied. "But now we're stuck here. Zoltan wants us to protect him while he studies the orb. A spell binds us to the castle grounds. Watch." Sandor opened the door and walked to the main gate. He put one foot on the bridge... Whooooosh! A rope of red energy appeared out of nowhere. It wrapped around Sandor's ankle and pulled him back onto the castle grounds!
