4 Floating

CHAPTER 4 FLOATING Purple energy beams shot from the ghostlike dragon's eyes. The beams hit Drake and Bo. Drake felt tingly all over his body. Then he floated up off the floor! The boy and dragon vanished again. "What is happening?!" Bo cried. He was floating above the floor, too. He moved his arms, almost like he was swimming, trying to get back down.

"This dragon has strange powers," Drake said. Worm agreed. I am not sure what we are dealing with. "Can you get us down, Worm?" Drake asked. Worm's eyes glowed. A beam of glittering, green light shone from each eye. The beams hit Bo and Drake. They slowly sank to the ground. "Begone!" The boy and dragon popped out of the wall behind Bo, making him jump. "Worm, freeze them!" Drake yelled.

Worm shot two green beams from his eyes. The boy and dragon vanished before the beams hit them. "Scram!" They appeared behind Worm. Worm whipped his head around, ready to freeze them. In a blink, they vanished. "Go away!" They popped out of the ceiling. "Worm! Follow them when they transport this time!" Drake cried. Worm's body glowed green as he prepared to transport.

The boy and dragon disappeared, but Worm did not. His glow faded. I cannot transport inside this castle, he told Drake. There is protection magic here that will not allow me. The boy and dragon appeared again. "Boo! Leave this castle!" "Please, wait!" Drake pleaded. "We are Dragon Masters, just like you. Can't we— They disappeared again. Drake shook his head. "This is impossible!"

"Drake, I figured out something," Bo said. "I have been counting. The Dragon Master and his dragon appear every thirteen seconds. Then they stick around for one second before they disappear again." "That's helpful," Drake said. "When they appear and disappear again, I'll count to thirteen. Worm, be ready to freeze them wherever they show up next." The boy and dragon popped up through the floor. "Scram!" Then they disappeared again. "One, two, three..." Drake began to count.

Worm's eyes glowed as he powered up for the move. "...twelve, thirteen!" Drake finished. "LEAVE NOW!" The boy and dragon appeared at the bottom of the staircase. Zap! Worm hit them with a blast of green energy.
