12 Surprise Attack!

CHAPTER 12 SURPRISE ATTACK! Sandor pushed open the doors to Zoltan's workshop. The three Dragon Masters and their dragons rushed inside. Creak and Sneak hovered behind Zoltan, who was looking in his spell book. The Dream Orb still glowed on the stand in front of him. "Phantom, Ghost Goop the minions!" Sandor ordered. "Worm, freeze Zoltan!" Drake yelled. "Shu, Water Blast!" Bo commanded, pointing at Zoltan.

The three dragons launched into action. Zoltan snapped his fingers. "Power shield!" Red energy sizzled from his fingertips, forming a protective wall around him, Creak, and Sneak.

Splat! Zap! Splash! Phantom's Ghost Goop, Worm's freeze attack, and Shu's water blast hit the energy wall but could not break through. "How dare you betray me, Sandor!" Zoltan called from inside his power shield.

"I don't owe you anything, Zoltan!" Sandor shot back. "These Dragon Masters have shown me more kindness today than you ever have." Zoltan's eyes flashed. "Creak! Sneak! Monster Form!" "Uh-oh," Sandor whispered, taking a step back. The two ghosts flew through the energy wall. Their bodies twirled and swirled in the air. When they stopped twirling, they looked really scary. Their mouths were filled with sharp teeth. Their eyes bulged, and their ghostly hands had sprouted sharp claws.

"Phantom, Ghost Goop!" Sandor cried. Phantom shot the slimy purple stuff at Creak and Sneak. But it wasn't enough to stop the monster ghosts. They roared and shook the goop from their bodies. Sandor ran behind a large trunk and motioned for Drake and Bo to join him. The boys ducked and huddled together. "How can we get the orb if Zoltan stays behind his power shield?" Sandor asked. "Shu can get rid of the power shield," Bo suggested. "Then Phantom can attack Zoltan." "Great! And I'll try to get the orb," Drake said. An idea was forming in his mind.

"Oooooeeeeoooooooo!" Creak and Sneak charged at Phantom. The Ghost Dragon shot out a huge blast of goop, and the slime slowed them down this time. "Shu, wash away Zoltan's power shield!" Bo cried. Shu floated up to the energy wall and sprinkled it with a misty blue cloud. It disappeared. "Phantom, Goop Zoltan!" Sandor yelled. Creak and Sneak swiped at Phantom. The Ghost Dragon vanished, avoiding them. Then he popped up next to Zoltan. "Aaaahhhhhhhhhh!" the wizard cried out as Phantom sprayed him with Ghost Goop. The wizard's hand brushed against the Dream Orb. It fell off its stand and onto the floor. Zoltan reached for it, but he was covered in the sticky goop and couldn't move or see.
