10 Creak and Sneak

CHAPTER 10 CREAK AND SNEAK Sandor, Drake, and Bo lunged for the spell book. But they weren't fast enough. Laughing, the ghost floated up to the ceiling.

"Phantom, Ghost Goop!" Sandor yelled. As Phantom shot goop at the ghost, a second ghost appeared. This ghost pushed Phantom, sending the goop splattering on a painting. The two ghosts zoomed out of the belfry. "That's Creak and Sneak," Sandor said. "We have to stop them from giving the book to Zoltan!" Drake charged out of the tower. "Worm! Freeze those ghosts!" he yelled down the stairs.

"Shu, blast them with water!" Bo commanded his dragon. The three boys reached their dragons. Worm was glowing green. Shu was shooting water at the ghosts. But Creak and Sneak were flying away.

Drake heard Worm's voice in his head. My powers do not work on them. "Shu's water went right through them," Bo reported. "Why don't our dragons' powers work against Creak and Sneak?" Drake asked Sandor.

"It is difficult to defeat ghosts," Sandor replied. "Most dragon powers don't work on them. But Phantom's Ghost Dragon powers do." "You said those ghosts are Zoltan's minions," Bo remembered. Sandor nodded. "Yes, they work for him. And now they will tell Zoltan that you and your dragons are in the castle. This might be a good time for us all to leave." "We can't give up now," Drake said. "We need to stick together. How do we get to the dungeon?" Sandor took a deep breath. "Well," he began, "I can show you a back entrance. Follow me!"
