CHAPTER 8 A FAST ESCAPE Drake quickly touched Worm. "Get us out of the way!" he yelled. Worm transported them both across the chamber in the blink of an eye. At the same time, Rori cried out, "Vulcan, Fire Blast!" Whoosh! Fiery orange flames shot from Vulcan's mouth. The flames hit Belydor.

The Crystal Dragon's body glowed orange for a brief second, but the Fire Blast had not harmed him. "Worm, freeze Belydor!" Drake cried. Green light poured from Worm's eyes. Before the light could reach Belydor, the crystal points on his body began to shine. A wall of light appeared around Belydor. Worm's energy hit the light and then disappeared. Drake, this dragon is very powerful. We must get to safety, Worm said.

"What about Griffith and Morgan?" Drake asked. We will return for them, Worm promised. Drake nodded. "Quick, take us out of here." In a flash, they were by Vulcan's side. Belydor's protective shield of light was starting to fade. Drake touched Vulcan. "Hang on. Worm's going to transport us." "No way!" Rori protested. "I'm not leaving Griffith." "Rori, sometimes a hero knows when it's best to run," Llew told her. "We'll come back!" Drake promised. "Worm, take us to the map chamber!"
