CHAPTER 10 FIRE! Good work, Frost!" Mina cheered. The dragon landed next to Astrid's frozen body. Some of the soldiers ran back into the portal as it closed. Others ran off into the desert.

Caspar hopped off Shaka. He walked around the frozen block of ice containing Astrid. "I am glad you two showed up," he said. "I must now admit that the fortress was not as safe as I thought."

"But it is safe now," Mina said. "And Jayana should be here soon. She will know what to do with this frozen wizard." Something was bothering Drake. "What if Astrid uses magic to unfreeze herself before Jayana gets here?" "Remember that time when Hulda got frozen? She could not get out," Mina said. "I don't think wizards can perform magic when they're frozen." Drake nodded. "That makes sense."

Suddenly, an orange glow came from inside the block of ice. "Look!" Drake said, pointing. "Oh no!" Mina said. "Everybody, get back, quickly!" Drake touched Worm, and they transported to safety behind one of the big rocks. Mina and Frost flew up and landed next to them. Caspar climbed onto Shaka's back.

"Stone Dragons are not afraid of wizards," he said. "Let us see what Astrid will do."

Whoosh! A stream of fire burst through the block of ice, melting it. Astrid floated out, and Drake gasped. The wizard was breathing fire, just like a Fire Dragon!
