Monkey Me 猴子男孩 · Monkey me and the golden monkey
chapter 5 This is crazy! I didn't wait for Claudia. When school was over, I ran home as fast as I could. I was confused. Like usual. But this time it wasn't a math problem I didn't understand.
It was a monkey problem! I didn't know why I had turned into a real monkey! Or how. “ Clyde! " Claudia yelled. She followed me through the front door and upstairs. " Leave me alone! " I said. Claudia pulled me into her bedroom. “ What were you doing in the school hallway for so long during art class today, Clyde?" She sat on her bed. I looked around her room . . . at her books . . . at her model rockets . . . at her stuffed animals.
" So what happened?" Claudia asked. “ Nothing happened, " I said. " Miss Plum wasn't very happy with you, Clyde, " Claudia said. “ What else is new?" I said. Claudia stared at my face. “ Something's wrong, isn't it?" she asked. I didn't want to tell her. But I knew my sister would bug me until I did. I also knew that maybe she could help me figure out why it happened.
I was the twin full of energy. Claudia was the twin full of brains. " Okay, here goes, " I said. “ I turned into a monkey and played in the school hallway. Then I turned back into a boy. " " That's the craziest story I've ever heard! " Claudia said. " But it happened! " I said. “ Ha-ha! Very funny, Clyde! " My sister looked at me like I had imagined the whole thing. She didn't believe I had turned into a monkey. Now I wasn't sure I believed it, either. I felt silly. I felt like I had to move!
I dashed over and grabbed a bunny stuffed animal from my sister's bookshelf. " So what really happened in the school hallway today, Clyde?" Claudia asked. I tossed the bunny into Claudia's trash basket. " He scores! " I yelled as a wave of energy splashed through me. I bounced. I laughed. I grabbed the bunny and shot again. " Calm down, Clyde! " Claudia said. " I can't, " I said.
My head started spinning. My heart raced. Faster. And faster. I sneezed. “ A-CHOO! " I fell behind my sister's bed. CLYDE? CLYDE?! TA-DAH!
