Monkey me and the school ghost

Chapter 1 Monkey News " Calm down, Clyde! " Claudia, my twin sister, said. “ Ha! See you later, alligator! " I said. I raced up the steps and into the science museum. " Yippee! " I slid across the floor of the main lobby. “ Slow down! " a museum guard yelled.

I kept sliding. Then I ran. There was lots I wanted to see! Dinosaurs! Mummies! The Golden Monkey! The stuffed gorilla! " Clyde! " Claudia held onto my shoulder. " We're not here to see the exhibits! " she said. " We're here to see Dr. Wally. " " Rats! " I said. My sister pulled me toward a back room in the museum. It is where Dr. Wally does his science experiments. It was where I became the monkey me.

IT HAPPENED THREE WEEKS AGO AT THE MUSEUM. I WAS HUNGRY. SO I ATE A BANANA THAT WAS PART OF AN EXPERIMENT. DR. WALLY TOLD ME IT CHANGED THE WAY MY BODY WORKS. NOW, WHEN I GET SUPER EXCITED. . . I CHANGE INTO A MONKEY!

" This way, Clyde! " Claudia held my arm tightly. She pulled me into a back room at the museum. " Welcome, Clyde and Claudia, " Dr. Wally said. " How may I help you?' " We were hoping you found a cure, " Claudia said. “ Something that will stop Clyde from changing into a monkey. " " I'm working on it, " Dr. Wally said. “ And I need to find the cure quickly. " He looked at me closely.

I looked at the open doorway. I couldn't wait to leave and see the museum exhibits outside the back room. “ The more Clyde changes into a monkey, " Dr. Wally said, " the more chance there is of him not being able to change back into a boy. " Claudia gasped. I walked toward the doorway. " You mean, my brother could be a real monkey forever?" Claudia asked. Dr. Wally nodded. " Did you hear that, Clyde?" Claudia asked. I did. Sort of. I was halfway across the room. And I was super excited. And I was bouncing. Higher. And higher.
