Chapter 1 Getting Excited " Slow down, Clyde! " Claudia yelled. I grabbed a banana off the kitchen table. I stuffed it into my mouth and raced out the front door. I dashed across my neighbor's front yard. Then I jumped over their flower garden.

Well, almost. I landed on the last flower . . . or two. I think. I didn't have time to look back. I had to keep moving. “ Wait up, Clyde! " Claudia said. Ha! I ran even faster. I hoped to lose my twin sister. But two blocks later, she grabbed my arm. " Are you crazy, Clyde?" she asked. " No, " I said. " Or sick?" Claudia asked. “ No. " I looked at her. " Why?"

" Because you're never in a hurry to get to school, " Claudia said. " And I'm not today, either, " I said. But I was. It was class picture day! Just thinking about it made me excited. And whenever I get excited, I can't stop moving! " See you later, alligator! " I broke free of Claudia's grip on my arm. " Oh, no you don't! " She pulled on the back of my shirt and spun me around.

" You need to stay calm, " Claudia said. " Why?" I asked. Claudia stared. “ You know why! " " No, I don't! " I said. " Yes, you do! " she said. " Ha! " I said. " I don't know anything! " Claudia tried hard not to laugh. I tried hard to think of something better to say. " Oh, you mean the monkey me. " Claudia nodded. " And it's going to get you in trouble, " she said. " Again! " “ Ha! " I said. But I knew my sister was right.

It all started last week at the museum. I WAS HUNGRY! AND I ATE A BANANA THAT WAS PART OF DR. WALLY'S EXPERIMENT. LATER, WHEN I GOT SUPER EXCITED. . . I TURNED INTO A MONKEY?! Dr. Wally said his experiment changed the banana. He said eating the banana changed the way my body works.
