The Dragon Boat Festival, also known as Duanwu Festival, is a traditional Chinese holiday celebrated on the fifth day of the fifth month of the lunar calendar.

It honors the famous poet Qu Yuan, who drowned himself in the Miluo River over 2, 000 years ago.

To save him, people raced out in their boats, throwing rice dumplings into the water to keep the fish away.

Today, the festival is marked by exciting dragon boat races and the making of delicious Zongzi, which are sticky rice dumplings wrapped in bamboo leaves.

Families gather to enjoy these treats, celebrating together and remembering their cultural heritage.

The colorful boats and rhythmic drumming fill the air with excitement and joy.
