The next day, Jack gets a cat. He takes the cat home in his hands. But the cat scratches his hands. " Next time, put it on some string. ' " Next time, I will, " says Jack. The next day, Jack gets some meat. He takes the meat home on a string. The meat is dirty. " Next time, put it on your head. " " Next time, I will, " says Jack. The next day, Jack gets a donkey. A sad girl who cannot talk sees Jack. She will talk again when she laughs. She sees Jack with the donkey on his head. She laughs. " This boy is very funny, " she says. " You can talk! " says her father.

He is very happy and gives Jack a lot of money.
