Climbing is an activity or sport where a person goes up a large rock or mountain. Climbing is her favorite sport. field n. A field is an area of ground where some sports are played. They're practicing on the soccer field. fishing n. Fishing is the sport of catching fish. The man and his son love fishing together. game n. A game is an activity or sport that people play according to rules. A group of friends is trying a new game. goal n. A goal is a point scored in sports, such as soccer. He kicks the ball and scores a goal. golf n. Golf is a sport where you use a small club to hit a ball into a hole. He plays golf every weekend. hit v. To hit something is to strike it quickly and with force, with your hand, a bat, or a racket. He can hit the ball hard. play v. To play is to take part in a sport or game. They play a lot of video games. player n. A player is someone who takes part in a sport or game. She's the best player on the team.

puzzle n. A puzzle is a game or toy with pieces that you have to fit together. This is the last piece of the puzzle. racket n. A racket is a type of bat with strings, used to hit a ball. She loves her new racket. runner n. A runner is someone who runs for sports or for fun. Every runner in the race has a number. running n. Running is a sport of moving on your feet at a speed faster than walking. Running keeps them healthy and fit. sailing n. Sailing is the sport or activity of traveling in a boat with sails. Sailing is a good way to enjoy the ocean. skateboard n. A skateboard is a short board with wheels on it. It's fun to watch him on his skateboard. soccer n. Soccer is a sport played by two teams who try to kick a ball to score goals. Kids all over the world play soccer. surfing n. Surfing is the sport of riding on waves in the ocean on a special board. Surfing is his favorite summer sport. tennis n. Tennis is a sport in which people hit a small ball back and forth over a net. He's teaching his daughter to play tennis. volleyball n. Volleyball is a sport in which two teams hit a ball over a high net. People play volleyball on the beach.

He wanted to bring people from all countries together. The 1896 Olympics have swimming, tennis, running, and many other sports.

1900 The first Olympic Games with both men and women happen in Paris. Women only play a few sports, such as golf, tennis, and sailing. Soccer becomes the first team sport. 1924 The first Winter Olympics happen.Two of the big sports are skating and ice hockey.Skating is the only winter sport for women. 1964 Volleyball becomes part of the Olympics. It's the first Olympic Games in Asia(Tokyo,Japan). 2020 Surfing, climbing, and skateboarding become Olympic sports. There are now women players in most Olympic sports. 20??
