一叶障目

Once upon a time, in ancient China, there lived a poor scholar.

He dreamed of becoming rich. He dreamed about it all day long, every day.

Reading at his desk, he imagined himself relaxing in a grand palace.

Having dinner with his wife, he would pretend there was a feast on the table, instead of one measly dish.

WHACK! His wife slapped the side of his head.

“ Wake up! Stop daydreaming! ” she scolded him. “ It’s time to clear the dishes. ”
