From Cow to Carton

Do you drink milk? Do you like it cool or hot? Maybe you put it on your cornflakes? Or do you make milkshakes?

We go to shops to get milk. There are lots of different cartons on the shelf. But where is milk from? How is it made?

Milk is made by cows. Grown-up cows eat a lot of grass. The grass feeds the cows and when it is inside the cow, it turns into milk.

The milk collects in a cow's udder. Little cows drink the milk from their mum's udder.

We can get milk from a cow's udder, too. To do this you squeeze the teats on the udder. We call this milking.
