Chang’e dances from sun to sun as she crosses the sky. She waves at her husband, Hou Yi.

The suns are like stepping stones. But there are too many suns. They burn the earth!

Hou Yi shoots his arrows at nine suns. They fall from the sky.

Only one sun remains. People begin life again. Rice grows. Fish swim.

Jade Emperor is mad. He misses the nine suns. Hou Yi and Chang’e are in trouble!

Jade Emperor says they must live short, human lives.
