The High Jumper

The High Jumper Dina is a miracle girl at my school. She always wins many medals at school sports meets. This year, she won a gold medal for high jump. She jumped over 1. 40 metres. That is nearly as tall as her! The amazing thing is that she just survived a big earthquake and recovered from it. Two years ago, the earthquake hit her city while she was sleeping. Her house collapsed and she was buried alive. When the rescue team found her, she couldn't move her legs. The major joints were all broken. She was taken to a hospital in a helicopter. Doctors immediately operated to fix her legs and other injuries.

People thought she would be disabled forever. But, she recovered. And now, she walks normally. On top of that, she is the greatest athlete in the whole school!
