Apple Time

Apple Time Last Saturday, Janet and her friends went to an apple orchard. They had been waiting for this day for months. Back in early September, their teacher told them, " One day this fall, we are all going to pick apples. ” Finally, the day came.

When the school bus pulled up to the orchard, the children couldn't wait to get off. There were apples everywhere! Some were on high branches. Some apples were right in front of them. Others had fallen to the ground. All the kids had to do was pick them up and put them in their baskets! After just half an hour, all the baskets were full of apples. The farmer carried the baskets to the wagon. Soon, everyone was eating a freshly picked apple. They were so sweet and crisp! Janet decided to bring home a basket of apples for her mother. This way, she could enjoy the fruits of her labour at home too!
