Waiting for the Train

Waiting for the Train Have you ever waited for a train to cross the road?Have you tried to count the number of cars that made up the train? Some trains can be very, very long! How long? We'll get to that later. … Trains are amazing! They have been around for almost 200 years. They carry people and things all over the world. They carry oil, metal, trees and many other things we use. Every day, trains carry millions of people from one place to another.

Trains are good for the environ-ment too because the people riding them don't need to use their cars. This means that trains can help reduce pollution. So, next time you see a train, remember how useful it is—even nearly two centuries after it was invented! What was the longest train ever?Well, it was in Australia. It had 8 engines and pulled 682 cars. And it was more than 7 kilometres long! Try counting those cars!
