Summer on the Farm

Summer on the Farm Last summer, I worked on my uncle's farm. I have never worked so hard in my life. Every day, I got up at 5 a. m. to feed the animals. The hardest work of all was called" haying" . That means gathering all the hay in the fields. Hay is like tall grass. The animals eat it. You need a huge amount to feed all the animals on the farm. A big machine cuts the hay and wraps it into big squares. The squares weigh at least 30 kilograms. You have to pick them up and throw them onto a big wagon. That summer, I lifted thousands of them.

When I got home at the end of the summer, none of my clothes fit me. I had grown such big muscles! That summer, l learned that hard work really pays off. Now I can't wait until next year!
