A Special Treat

A Special Treat Everyone has a favourite treat. You may have one or many. Do you know what my special treat is?It's the Beaver Tail. A beaver tail?You may be shocked. But don't get me wrong. My Beaver Tail is not actually a beaver's tail. It's a yummy sweet food made of flour. A Beaver Tail is a piece of dough, shaped like a beaver's tail. It is quickly fried and then sprinkled with some brown sugar on top. Mmmm! My special treat is really SPECIAL. It's not always available. It's sold on the canal only during the winter, when the water freezes, and people come to skate.

It's sweet. It's hot and soft. It always goes with my favourite winter activity—skating on the canal. l love Beaver Tails. Best of all, I love the atmosphere of a cold winter day with so many people eating Beaver Tails and drinking hot chocolate after skating for hours. Put it all together, and you have a VERY special treat!
