The Gift

The Gift Today is Grandma's 85th birthday. “ I'm giving her a picture, " says Brian. " I took it with my new camera. What are you going to give her?" he asks his brother Joey. “ I don't know, " says Joey. " I don't have a camera. So l can't take a picture. ” Joey goes into the kitchen. His mom is busy baking. “ Mom, what are you giving Grandma?” “ I'm baking her favourite cake, " says Joey's mom. “ I can't bake cakes. I don't know how, ” says Joey. Joey goes to his sister's room. She is busy sewing. “ Susan, what are you giving Grandma?” “ I'm making her a warm blanket, ” says Susan.

“ I can't sew blankets. I don't know how, ” says Joey. Joey then goes and sits next to Grandma on the couch. “ Everyone has a present for you, but me. I can't take a picture, bake or sew. I don't have anything to give you, " says Joey. Grandma put her arm around Joey. " No one else has the time to come and sit with me. That's what you can give me, " says Grandma. Joey snuggles in close to Grandma. “ Happy Birthday, ” he says.
