Proud of My Past

Proud of My Past My name is Leo. My family is from the Ojibway tribe. At first, I didn't think this was special. But that was before I learned how interesting my people are! We lived in North America long before anyone else. Some people think we might have come from Asia thousands of years ago. In those days, my people lived off the land. We never did anything that would cause pollution. We respected the earth. We respected each other.

We never wasted anything either. The water, the trees, and the land were very special to us. Today, the whole world thinks about these things. But we have always been like this. l am proud of the history of the Native people. l am also proud to be a Canadian.
