The Strange Goose

One Story A Day

The Strange Goose Susan lives on a farm. There are always lots of animals around. The geese are her favourites. One day, the mother goose disappeared. But there was one egg left in the nest. Susan wanted to take care of it. She took a box and made a warm place for the egg in the box. She kept the egg very warm. Soon, a small crack formed in the egg. And then, another crack formed. Finally, a small, yellow baby goose stuck its head out. Susan could not believe it! The baby goose ate and ate. It grew big. It followed her everywhere.

One day, everyone in Susan's school heard a sound outside. When they looked out the window, they all laughed. Susan's goose had followed her to school!
