Story time The Wizard of Oz 1 Once upon a time there was a little girl called Dot. She lived with her aunt and uncle in the country. One day, when Dot and her dog were in the house, a strong wind blew the house away. 2 When the house landed, Dot got out. She was frightened. Where am I? I want to go home, ' she said. A fairy appeared. 'Don't worry, Dot. Turn left and follow the yellow brick road. It will take you to the Wizard of Oz. He helps everyone, 'said the fairy. 3 On the way, Dot met Lion in the forest. I want to be brave, ' Lion told her. Come with me, ' said Dot. 'I'm going to see the Wizard of Oz. He can help you' 4 Then they saw Tin Man. You're crying. What's the matter?' asked Dot. 'I don't have a heart, ' said Tin Man. We're going to see the Wizard of Oz. He can give you a heart, ' said Lion. 5 Later they met Scarecrow. 'Can I come with you? I want to see the wizard. I want to ask him for a brain, ' he said. 'Of course! ' said Dot. 'Come with us. '

6 Finally the friends arrived at the city of Oz. 'Please help us. I want to go home. Lion wants to be brave. Scarecrow wants to be clever. Tin Man wants a heart, Dot said to the wizard. I can help you but first you must help me. A bad witch lives in that castle over there. She's kiling the people of Oz. Please stop her, ' said the wizard. 7 The friends went to the bad witch's castle. They fought with the witch's monkeys. Lion was not afraid of the monkeys. He was brave. Tin Man took care of Dot's dog. Suddenly it started to rain. 'Oh, no! I need an umbrella, ' said the witch. Scarecrow had an idea. What is the bad witch afraid of? 8 Scarecrow threw some water over the witch. 'Oh, no! I'm melting! ' the witch said. Well done, Scarecrow! ' said Lion. You're clever! ' Tin Man gave Dot back her dog. Thank you for looking after my dog, Tin Man. You're kind. You already have a heart, ' said Dot. The friends went back to Oz.
