弗格斯与齐克 · 6 Fergus And Zeke And The Great Farm Field Trip
CHAPTER 4 THE BEST TOUR GUIDE EVER Fergus watched the bus roll down the long farm driveway. But then it stopped. The door opened. "Look!" said Fergus. "Miss Maxwell is walking back this way!"
"Yay!" Zeke said. "She is coming to save us." He waved out over the field of sunflowers. But Miss Maxwell didn't wave back. She did not come to the sunflower field. Zeke flopped down on the sunflower. "She doesn't even know we are here! She's walking to the barn." "She must be going to get her schoolbag," Fergus said. Then he had an idea. "Zeke! If we sneak into Miss Maxwell's bag, she'll carry us to the bus! We'll have to hurry. Follow me!" Down, down, down they climbed.
They sped through the maze of sunflowers and past the pigsty. "Bye, pigs!" Fergus shouted. "We have a bus to catch!"
They raced past the apple orchard and the bees and the henhouse. "So long, hens!" Zeke called. "We're going home!" "Shortcut!" Fergus shouted as he ducked into the barn. Zeke followed him past the animal pens. "See you later, cows!" he called.
"Good-bye, grumpy goat!" shouted Fergus. Fergus was tired, but he tried to run even faster. It was a long way to the spot where Miss Maxwell had left her schoolbag. What if she was already gone? "We're almost there!" Fergus shouted. But when they got to the barn door, he stopped. "Oh no!"
