Winnie's Fun Run

Chapter One Crash! Winnie opened the door. "I'm home, Wilbur!" she shouted. "Where are you?" Wilbur was having a nap just inside the door. He opened one eye, then closed it again. "Wiiiiiillllbuuurrrr!" yelled Winnie. "Guess what, Wilbur?" Wilbur just looked at her.

"There's a fun run this afternoon!" said Winnie. "Everyone has to wear fancy dress! There are prizes for the best costumes! Oooh, what costume shall I have, Wilbur?" Wilbur rolled his eyes. "Abracadabra!" went Winnie, and suddenly she was dressed as a mermaid.

But when Winnie tried to walk, she went wobble-splat-crash! Mermaids can't walk very well. They are even worse at running. "Bother!" said Winnie. "I need to be able to run in my costume. I know! Abracadabra!"

At once, Winnie became a ballerina. She twirled and swirled and twiddled and twaddled until... Crash! "Drat!" said Winnie, rubbing her leg. "That's no good either!" "Meeow!" said Wilbur. He had a good idea. He pointed to a picture of a handsome knight and a princess. "What a great idea!" said Winnie. "Clever cat, Wilbur!"
