The Cat and the Monkey's Tail

One day a cat was lying lazily in the lovely hot sun. She felt too lazy even to get herself a drink. "I'll make that monkey get me a drink," she thought, and...

...she pulled off the monkey's tail and wouldn't give it back. "Please give me back my tail," said the monkey. "Only if you get me some milk," said the cat.

So the monkey went to the cow. "Please give some milk to the cat," he said. "Then the cat will give me back my tail." "Only if you get me some grass," said the cow.

So the monkey went to the farmer. "Please give some grass to the cow," he said. "Then the cow will give some milk to the cat, and the cat will give me back my tail." "Only if you get me some water," said the farmer.

So the monkey went to the river. "Please give some water to the farmer," he said. "Then the farmer will give some grass to the cow, the cow will give some milk to the cat, and the cat will give me back my tail." "Only if you get me some rain," said the river.
