13 Trouble at the Toy Shop CRASH! Violet heard a familiar giggle. A cute fairy wearing purple overalls flew down from the wall. "Spoiler!" Violet cried. "Not you again!" Not long ago, Spoiler had tried to stop them from tricking a gremlin named Jolt.
"That broken toy should slow you down!" Spoiler cried. "By the way, Finn the Wizard says hello!" She vanished, laughing. "Oh dear," Sprite said. "I didn't know Spoiler was working for Finn. That's very bad. Very bad indeed." Finn, a fairy wizard, was one of the escaped pixies. He was very dangerous. Violet picked up the broken train. "What are we going to do now?"
"We might as well make sure Fixit is here," Leon suggested. "Then we can come back tomorrow with a new present." They walked inside the colorful toy shop. The woman behind the counter had strange, sparkly eyes. "He must be here," Sprite whispered. "The shopkeeper is under a spell." Violet and Leon walked down the toy aisles. They heard sounds coming from the back of the shop. They slowly walked toward the noise.
Fixit stood at a workbench, hammering square wheels onto a wooden truck. Stacked all around him were messed-up toys. Fixit looked up from his work and scowled at them. "What are you doing here?"
"Well, we were trying to bring you a present. "Violet began. "But then, spoiler..."
"A present?" Fixit asked. "For me?" Violet handed him the toy train. "Sorry. It's broken," she said. "Now you'll be angrier than ever." But Fixit looked at the train in wonder. His eyes grew wide. "Did you—did you make this?" he asked. Violet nodded. "I helped," Leon piped up. Fixit sat down. "I can't believe it," he said. "I can't believe that children made me a present. A toy just for me. A beautiful, wonderful toy!" And then Fixit did something amazing. He smiled. "I'm so happy!" he cried.
