3 Magic Beans

CHAPTER THREE Magic Beans On the way to the candy store, the four friends bumped into Mother Moose. Where are you four off to in such a hurry? We're going to get snacks for our movie night.

Yes! We're going to Handsome and Grossel's candy store. Does she mean Hansel and Gretel's? If I see an oven, I'm out of there! We are never going to find a treat as good as this.

Mother Moose walked with them for a while. But then he smelled cream cheese. Mother Moose stopped in his tracks. I just LOVE cream cheese! This would be so yummy on my chocolate mousse bagels. Mother Moose pulled Jack to the side. He offered to make a trade.

I'll give you this whole bag of jelly beans for that one tub of cheese. I don't know... This is a large tub of cheese. And that is not a big bag of jelly beans. But these are very special jelly beans, Jack. Well, I guess if they are special beans, then... it's a deal! Mother Moose made the trade. Then he ran home to make some bagels.

Jack caught up with the girls to tell them about his amazing trade. Guess what! Mother Moose traded me for the cream cheese! Hooray! What did you get? I bet it's something yummy! Jack held up the bag of jelly beans. Mother Moose said these are special jelly beans! That's all you got? And they're pink?! I can't stand pink! I'm not even a fan of moldy jelly beans. I never would have made that trade!

The girls were unhappy with Jack for making such a bad trade. Jack was unhappy with the girls for being unhappy. And Reggie was just unhappy. No one wanted to go to the candy store anymore. Let's just go watch the movies. It's about time. Okay. My house is right around the corner.
