5 Scared into Action

Chapter 5 SCARED INTO ACTION TUESDAY Dear Diary, This morning, I decided I needed Duchess's help if I was going to keep Bella out of the attic. I found her under the chair. It's raining outside. Will you help me keep Bella out of the attic? Help you?! No way! You'll have to choose, rain or ghost.

I hate the rain, but I hate ghosts WAY more. Bella was on her way to the attic when I found her. So I used my no-fail move. Let's go work on our fort, Bubby! Wait. What are you doing?! This move works every time. NO! Outside!

We suited up and headed out. We splashed through puddles, made mud cakes, and caught raindrops. I hated every minute. We should play in the rain more often! Don't count on it.

We played until we were too cold and wet to move. Let's go inside, Bub. Nana gave me some old pearls for dress-up. We can play in the attic. Inside sounded nice, Diary. But I freaked out when Bella mentioned the attic. Why are you so afraid of the attic, Bub? There's nothing to be scared of up there.

All of a sudden, thunder sounded in the sky. BOOM! Then something flew past the inside of the attic window! The ghost! Did you see that?! Was that a GHOST?!

We raced into the house and joined Duchess under the chair. Look who the scaredy-cats are now. Zip it, furball. So much for playing in the attic...
