Chapter 5 "Oof!" said Peter. "Hiss!" said Venom. The alien creature pounced on the teenager, sending him flying into the department store. Peter got to his feet. Venom charged toward him. Peter ran away. "Changing room, changing room, changing room," Peter chanted. He raced through

the accessories section in search of a private place to become Spider-Man. He couldn't be seen fighting foes as Peter Parker. He needed his Super Hero identity. He had to slow Venom down. He had to do it now! Peter grabbed whatever he could and tossed it at the alien. A scarf. A handful of fake snow. A top hat. The items hit Venom hard. Venom caught sight of itself in the mirror and hissed. "We look like Frosty the Snowman!" the alien screeched. "We will get you for this!" Venom looked around. Peter was nowhere to be seen. "Come out, come out, wherever you are. You cannot hide from us! Show yourself, Spider-" Wham! Spider-Man burst out of a changing room feet first. He knocked the wind

out of-and the clothing off of-Venom. "Man," Spidey said. "You were going to say 'man, right?" Venom retreated to the food court. Spider-Man followed. The alien and the wall-crawler faced off at the center of a holiday-centric fast- food fantasy. Spider-Man slammed Venom into a display of snowman snow cones. Venom threw Spidey into a Christmas tree pizza.

"I get it," Spider-Man said. "The ornaments are pepperoni. Cute!" The Super Hero and the Super Villain grappled through reindeer rugelach, candy cane calzones, and eggnog egg rolls. When Venom finally tossed Spidey into a tower of latke tacos, the web-slinger was out of food and out of ideas. "Oy vey," Spider-Man said. "I could really use some help."
