CHAPTER EIGHT Awooga awooga awooga awooga awooga awooga awooga awooga! I'm really not sure about these chapter titles, you know. Then why don't you change them?
Oh no, not you again. For the last time, this book doesn't need another woodlouse! Well, that may be the case. But do you neea another woodlouse? What on earth do you mean? Don't you ever get lonely sometimes? Oh! Erm. Crikey.
Even though no big matches were coming up, most of the Grimwood treebonk team had gathered for afternoon practice. Nancy, a natural treebonker, was team captain. 'Come on, Ginger, get your head in the game!' she scolded, gently thwacking the squirrel's helmet. 'Sorry, captain,' said Ginger, quietly putting down a packet of cheesy snackos. 'Right, let's go again. On the count of three, OK? One… two… 'TREEEEEBONK!' At least a dozen squirrels launched themselves into the air and started boinging from tree to tree. 'Noooooo!' cried one of them, as they missed a branch by millimetres and landed with a THUNK on the ground. Two more squirrels collided in midair, their heads clonking together like coconut shells.

Rufus pulled a pained face every time a squirrel hit the ground. 'I can't get used to how violent this game is,' he said, wincing. 'That's why Nancy likes it,' mumbled Ted. He was still feeling jittery after his fight with Willow. His tummy felt all wibbly and his head felt like it was full of cotton wool. He'd always hated fights and shouting. Rufus nudged his little brother. 'Hey, the bunny will calm down, Ted,' he said, softly. 'Don't worry, mate.' Ted sniffed and wiped his eyes. 'I still don't know what I did wrong,' he said, a little huffily. 'Well, it seems Willow is a bit sensitive about where she lives,' said Rufus. 'It's nice she feels so at home with you guys. I can't blame her.' They watched Nancy bounce perfectly from the bough of a sycamore tree and fling three squirrels in a row to the ground. She was well tough. Ted sometimes wished he could be as tough as her. Nothing much seemed to bother Nancy. He sat up straighter and frowned a little. 'Well, whatever,' he said. 'Willow can do what she likes. I don't even need a best friend, do I? Not now I've got you… and Nancy too, of course?'
