Chapter FOUR 'Mum, Auster, Delphina!' I cried the next morning, racing into the royal dining room in a flurry of bubbles. Mum glanced up at the clock on the wall. 'You're late for breakfast, Emerald!' she said. 'You better eat fast or you'll be late for school!' I sat down at the table and pulled

my bowl of Aqua Crunch Loopy Loops towards me, starting to shovel them into my mouth. 'I've had an idea,' I said through a mouthful of cereal. 'And I need your help!' 'What idea?' asked Delphina as she primly finished her last bite of toast. 'My doll's house!' I said. 'The sea sprites loved it so much, I want them to have it! But if they can't come to the palace, then I need to bring it to them. Will you help me take my doll's house to the sea sprites after school?' 'Today?' said Mum, looking unsure. 'It's really important to me!' I said. 'Please?'

'Oh the sea sprites would love to have the doll's house!' said Delphina, clasping her hands together. 'Are you sure you want to give it to them though, Emerald? Your doll's house is so special to you.' 'I know,' I replied. The thought of losing it made me get a lump in my throat. But then the thought of giving it to the sea sprites made me feel sparkly all over. I knew they would enjoy having it even more than me. 'I want them to have it,' I said. Mum looked at Auster and he looked back at her and shrugged. 'We could take the royal carriage?' he suggested. 'We could pick Emerald

and Delphina up from school later and go straight on to the north. 'I suppose so,' said Mum. 'Are you sure you want to give your doll's house away though, Emerald? Don't you want to think about it for a bit longer?' 'No,' I said firmly. 'I'm sure.'

I could hardly concentrate at school. I kept glancing up at the clock, willing for it to be home time. Finally, the bell rang and we all poured out onto the playground. Will you come and play today?' asked my friend, Oceana. 'I can't,' I replied. 'Sorry. But maybe tomorrow!' I swam off to find the royal carriage which was waiting at the gates and attracting a huge amount of attention.
