胖熊和瘦兔 · 4 A Rabbit and Bear-a bite in the Night

Part 4

"AaaAaaAAaargh!" said Rabbit. "And who else is it bad news for?" "Oh, just rabbits," said Castor. "But rabbits are usually not very popular, because of their Bad Habits. So the other animals don't mind at all."

Then Mole and Mouse and Vole arrived. "Hey!" said Mole in his squeaky voice. "You've flooded my house! I'm angry!" "Hey!" said Mouse, in her even squeakier voice. "You've flooded my house! I'm furious!" "Hey!" squeaked Vole, the youngest and smallest of all, in a voice so squeaky they could hardly hear it. She was so angry she

climbed all the way up Castor's fur, to shout in his ear. "You've flooded MY house! And that's MEAN!"

"Oh yes," said Castor, and brushed Vole off his shoulder like she was an annoying leaf. "I forgot." He scribbled on his report. "It's also bad news for moles, and mice, and voles. But they are Small and Unimportant and Silly Animals. Well, I'd better get back to work."

CRUNCH! CRUNCH! CRUNCH! CRASH... "What kind of Monster are you?!" shouted Rabbit. "Stop calling me a Monster!" said Castor. "I'm a beaver, and beavers are Very Important and Successful Animals."

"Yeah, successful at ruining people's lives," said Rabbit. "I don't think he means to ruin our lives," said Bear.
