伊莎多拉月亮 · 18 Isadora Moon and the Frost Festival

Chapter 5

Chapter FIVE 'Isadora!' came a voice, and Estrella came hurrying up behind me. 'Are you OK?' 'I've lost Mum and Dad!' I said, my voice cracking slightly. 'They've gone!' 'Don't worry,' said Estrella, putting her hand on my shoulder. 'They have to be at the Frost Festival somewhere. I'll help you look.'

'But what about the star!' I said. 'Finding your parents is more important!' replied Estrella. 'And you were very kind to try and help me, so now I'm going to help you! Why don't we fly up into the air? We might be able to spot your family more easily from up above, especially among all the crowds.

'Good idea,' I said, feeling relieved that Estrella was here. 'Maybe we'll even spot the star at the same time.' We fluttered up into the air together, looking down at the huge clearing from up above. We hovered over the gleaming

ice rink swarming all over with fairies, at the striped canopies of all the stalls, at the pointed roof of the carousel spinning round and round, and at the green fir trees all around, their snowy tops glowing white in the moonlight.

'This is harder than I thought,' I said, squinting my eyes. 'Everyone looks the same from up above, and there are so many twinkling lights everywhere!' 'Hmm,' said Estrella. 'I suppose they could be inside one of the log cabins. Maybe they've gone to the restaurant or the café? Maybe we should go back down and search on foot.' We flew back down to the ground, landing by the entrance to the café. Estrella pushed open the door. It was warm inside and my tummy rumbled at the sight of all the cakes and pastries lined up on the counter. 'Are your family in here?' asked Estrella.
