伊莎多拉月亮 · 18 Isadora Moon and the Frost Festival
Chapter FOUR Estrella, Pink Rabbit, and I hurried through the busy, bustling crowd on the lookout for the star. I searched the ground in case it was lying there and I looked at all the other fairies in case one of them might have accidentally picked it up. I saw starry coats and scarves, starry midwinter crowns, and starry strings of lights. But
no big glowing star tree topper. 'Let's check behind all the stalls,' said Estrella. 'Just in case someone handed it in or something.' We headed for a stall full of little wooden animals, and while Estrella was talking to the owner, I couldn't help marvelling at the hand-carved figures. They were all so charming! There were little mice wearing crowns, dancing squirrels, sweet spiky hedgehogs, and big wooden acorns with smiling faces. 'I haven't seen a star,' said the stall owner. 'But I'll keep a lookout!' Then he glanced down at me and spotted Pink Rabbit. His eyes lit up.

'Oh!' he said, 'What a lovely rabbit! I'd love to carve a model of him for my stall. Do you think he could pose for me?' Pink Rabbit wiggled his ears with excitement but I shook my head. 'I'm so sorry,' I said, 'but we both have to help our friend look for the star! Maybe we can come back later once we've found it?' The stall owner looked a little disappointed, but he nodded his head in understanding. 'I hope you find the star soon!' he said. Then he picked up his carving knife and began to cut away at a block of wood, sending peelings flying everywhere.
Together Estrella and I made our way to the next stall which was selling cosy, knitted fairy hats. There were pointed hats, ones with pompoms, and some pretty purple ones shaped like giant harebell flowers.
'Oh!' I cried, distracted for a moment. I knew Mum would LOVE a knitted hat in the shape of a flower for Christmas. I dug down in my coat to see how much pocket money I had with me in my purse. Just enough! Hurriedly, I paid the stall owner and they wrapped it in a striped paper bag and handed it over. Then I ran after Estrella who was already moving on to the next stall. This one sold candy canes in all different colours and sizes. There were rainbow ones, and red- and-white ones, and giant pink-and-green striped ones.
