Chapter THREE We flew together, over the tops of the fir trees, towards the centre of the forest. It was starting to get dark and the sky was turning a deep, inky blue, scattered with tiny, twinkling stars. I could see other fairies now flying towards the Frost Festival too! Some of them were holding lanterns, glowing
warmly in the dusky light. Eventually, we came to a large clearing in the middle of the forest. Down below I could see a huge ice rink gleaming beneath the light of the moon. There were lots of stalls too, all strung with coloured lights. I could see fairies selling sugared nuts, and pink, fluffy fairy-floss, and little carved animals made of wood. There was also a fairground with twirling, twinkling rides. The Frost Festival was very busy! I had never seen so many fairies in one place before. I felt butterflies of excitement begin to flutter inside me. It all looked so magical. It was beautiful!

'Let's get some hot chocolate,' suggested Aunt Crystal, leading us down towards a stall with a pink and gold striped canopy. 'They have all sorts of different sprinkles and types of chocolate here!'
