Chapter SIX Mum led us to a clearing in the forest where there was a fallen log long enough for us to all sit on. Then she got the tent out of her rucksack and waved her wand. Immediately, it sprang up in the middle of the clearing. Then she collected some twigs and sticks and waved her wand over them so that pink sparks rained down and burst into a warm flickering fire.

'Lovely!' said Mum, warming her hands over it while Dad watched on in dismay. She got some vegetarian fairy sausages, marshmallows, and chocolate biscuits out of her backpack and started to make dinner for everyone. 'Mmm!' said Nova. 'That smells delicious.' We all sat round the campfire and ate the sausages and melted the marshmallows on the end of long forks, squishing them between chocolate biscuits.
