伊莎多拉月亮 · 13 Isadora Moon Meets the tooth Fairy

Chapter 4

Chapter FOUR There was a warm pink glow coming through the window in the tiny kitchen and it kept moving and flickering about. Surely something that was small enough to fit inside my doll's house couldn't be scary! Feeling more curious than frightened now, I slipped out of bed and crept across the floor to the doll's house.

Kneeling down, I peered in at one of the windows and gasped. In the kitchen and making a terrible mess, was a tiny velvety looking mouse with a pink nose and sparkling wings! She had a bag slung across her shoulder with a picture of a tooth on it and the light was coming from a miniature wand that she held in her paw. She was very busy opening every cupboard and drawer in the kitchen, pulling out tiny saucepans and cups and plates and leaving them scattered on the floor. She was obviously looking for something and I knew what it was. My fang!

I moved away from the kitchen window and sat back on the floor wondering what to do. The little light was moving out of the kitchen now. It vanished for a moment and then reappeared upstairs, in the dining room. I didn't want to frighten the fairy mouse but I needed to stop her getting upstairs to the bedroom where my fang was hidden in the wardrobe. Gently, I pulled open the front of the doll's house. There was a tiny 'Eeek!' and I peered in to see the mouse staring up at me with frightened eyes and quivering whiskers. 'It's OK!' I whispered quickly.

'I won't hurt you!' 'But I'm not supposed to be seen!' squeaked the mouse and clutched her tiny tooth bag to her chest. 'I won't tell anyone!' I promised. 'I just want to talk. My name is Isadora. What's yours?'
