Chapter SIX The following morning Wilbur and I came sheepishly out of our bedroom and slunk towards the breakfast table. 'Good morning!' said Dad cheerfully as he basked in the sunshine. 'I hope it will be a good morning,' said Mum who was wearing a large pair of witchy sunglasses and her black silk

dressing gown. Let's try and have absolutely no mischief today shall we?' 'I promise!' I said. 'Good,' smiled Mum. 'All is forgiven then. Let's start afresh. I thought we could go to the waterpark today!' 'Oh yeah!' said Wilbur, punching the air with his fist. We arrived at the waterpark and I gazed in wonderment at all the rides. There were some witchy bubbling rapids, a tube slide

shaped like a snake with a fanged mouth to woosh out from, and loads of inflatable black cats that you could ride on. 'Woah!' said Wilbur, staring up at the giant black witch's hat slide. 'It's so high!' 'Let's go on it first!' I said.

We left our towels with Mum and Dad and we were just about to climb the steps when I heard a familiar voice behind me. 'Mirabelle!' 'Uh oh,' said Wilbur. My heart sank as I turned around to see Beatrix in a black bat swimming costume. 'Mirabelle, I'm so sorry about yesterday!' she said.' I didn't mean to get you into trouble.' She eyed Wilbur and then whispered in my ear: 'I thought you'd be pleased!

I was getting back at Wilbur for you, for telling tales on you!' I frowned. 'I didn't need you to do that for me, Beatrix,' I said firmly. 'I know that now,' said Beatrix. 'It all got out of hand. And I really am sorry! Do you forgive me?' I looked at Beatrix, kind of wishing that I could just spend some time with Wilbur at the pool. It would be much safer! But I didn't want to be mean. 'OK,' I said. 'But you have to promise me that you won't do any more magic or

play any more tricks for the rest of the holiday!' 'I promise!' said Beatrix eagerly. 'Are you going on the witch's hat slide? I'll come too!' The three of us hurried up the steps of the witch's hat.
