CHAPTER 10 The cosy cushioned wheelbarrow rumbled along the country lane, towed as ever by the faithful Gregory, the huge St Bernard. The bright late-morning sun filtered through the willow trees that overhung the road, and everyone felt warm and dozy. The night had ended in a STAGGERING SUCCESS. Catface had stayed on for hours, and was widely regarded as the

GREATEST HEADLINER the festival had seen since the old days of Paws Robinson. Larry had appeared on the back of Finbar the falcon, closely followed by Sheila and the team who had taken ADF's henchcats into custody. And Toto, Silver and Lutra had destroyed the hypnotising

video so that it could never be used again. It had all ended up in a HUGE PARTY back at Lutra's holt where milk was drunk, old songs were sung and new friendships were cemented. Even Jonny had come along. He'd recovered a bit of his swagger by coming up with a story that made him the hero of the day. He kept telling anyone who would listen that he'd known all along that Ferdicat was posing as his manager, and was just waiting for the right time to take him down- with Toto's help, of course. It was, apparently, all part of his GRAND PLAN TO SAVE THE DAY and keep his fans safe. Naturally, most of the media and his fans believed this. The only animals who knew

the real story kept quiet at Toto's request when the news cameras had arrived. 'Aren't you a bit miffed?' Silver asked his sister, as the wheelbarrow pulled up at Ottervil station. 'Shouldn't it be us- I mean, you- getting all this attention?'

'Brother, the last thing I want is attention. Jonny's welcome to it. I just want to get home and SLEEP FOR A WEEK, then go back to normal ninja duties. They're a lot safer than this ROCK 'N' ROLL game!' Jonny and the Shorthairs were already on the platform, just about to board the train. Nana, the bass player, came over to Catface.
