Epilogue

EPILOGUE Mamma and Papa had just returned from a weekend at the Glastonbury music festival and were exhausted! They could think of nothing more now than A WARM BATH, A CUDDLE with their TWO favourite cats and AN EARLY NIGHT. As Papa took the suitcases full of very dirty clothes upstairs, Mamma went to put the kettle on and find her furry

friends. BUT SHE COULDN'T SPOT THEM ANYWHERE! She tried the KITCHEN (where they'd normally be), their little HIDEY- HOLES under the beds, the SOFAS in the living room. No sign of them. It was then she heard a faint but distinct meow coming from the ATTIC ROOM. She climbed the stairs to the attic and found her cats curled up with a cute TABBY AND WHITE KITTEN nestled between them, meowing quietly. If she didn't know better, she could have sworn it was smiling at her! 'Papa, I think our family might have grown,' she called down the stairs, and picked the kitten up in her arms to give it a welcome cuddle. 'Who are you?' she asked.

The new kitten gave her a little lick. Mamma put him on her shoulder and started to walk downstairs.

Looking back at his adopted brother and sister, Socks gave them a beaming grin. Toto returned a thumbs up. 'Welcome to the family!'
