小屁孩树屋历险记 · 13 The 169-Story Treehouse
CHAPTER 13 THE LAST CHAPTER Given that we've already built a 169-story treehouse, a treehouse school, and a supersonic paper plane, building a single-story cottage exactly like Jill's old one is easy and doesn't take us very long at all. "It's perfect," says Jill. "And the view from up here is spectacular! Now all I have to do is move my animals
in… Uh-oh…" "What's the matter?" I say. "I'm not sure where my animals are— I haven't seen them since the wind blew them and my cottage away." "Don't worry," says Terry. "The Grabinator can find them all and bring them to their new home." So Terry fires up the Grabinator and starts to grab.
He grabs and grabs and grabs and grabs and grabs and grabs and grabs and grabs and grabs until all of Jill's animals (and a few others that aren't Jill's but don't seem to mind too much) have been grabbed and placed in their new home.
"It's so nice to see you all again," says Jill. "I've missed you." "Hee-haw!" says Hee-Haw. "You're right about that," says Jill. "What did he say?" says Terry. "He said there's no place like home," says Jill. "Exactly!" says Terry. "And there's no home like a treehouse." "You can say that again," I say. "There's no home like a treehouse," says Terry. "There's no home like a treehouse… there's no home like a treehouse… there's no home like a—" "You can stop saying it now," I say.
"Why?" says Terry. "Because it's the end of the book," I say. "Wait," says Terry. "Can we have a zoom-out ending? We've never done that before." "Sure!" I say. "Yay!" says Terry. "Double yay," says Jill. "I love zoom-out endings!" "Okay then," I say. "One zoom-out ending coming up. Everybody hold on tight. That goes for you, too, readers. Here we go!"
