CHAPTER 9 WE'RE GOING ON A HOBYAH HUNT! 'Jill?' I say. 'What are you doing here? And why are you dressed like that?' 'I'm on a hobyah hunt,' says Jill. 'What are you doing here?' 'We're on a camping holiday,' says Terry. 'This is our new camping ground level.' 'Oh, I didn't realise I'd climbed your tree,' says Jill. 'I was following some hobyah tracks through the forest
and they led me here.' 'Come and see our campsite,' says Terry. 'We've got a tent and everything!' 'And everyone,' I say. I introduce Jill to Jimmy and Wanda and explain to everyone that there was no need for them to be scared —the rustling in the bushes was just her. 'Yeah,' says Terry. 'She's hunting hobyahs… whatever they are.'
'You don't know what a hobyah is?' says Jill. 'Never heard of them,' says Terry. 'Me neither,' I say. 'Tell us more about these hobyahs,' says Wanda. 'I think our readers at GO AWAY! magazine will be very interested in them.'
'Well,' says Jill, 'they're mysterious little creatures that live in the woods. There have been many sightings, but nobody can quite agree on what they look like.' Some say they look like lizards. Some say they're more like cats. Some say they're cute like rabbits. Some say they're more like rats.
Some say they're like a possum… or a long-nosed potoroo. The only thing we know for sure is what they like to do: they skip, skip, skip
